A MAN who was called a 'hatfish' by a cruel troll has hit back by telling people how the label really isn't a compliment.

Scott D Henry posted a video in response to the unwanted 'hatfish' comment he received from a social media user which read: "Yep. 20 years younger with the hat on lols."

In the clip, shared to TikTok, he can be seen reacting to the message and says: "20 years younger, huh? Alright!"

Scott, who is bald underneath the cap he's wearing, then goes to see his wife, who can be seen applying her makeup ahead of a night out.

"You almost ready, babe?" he asks.

As she replies 'yes,' Scott then turns the "20 years younger" comment on its head to prove that it's offensive no matter who it's said to.

"Putting makeup on, huh?" he says.

"Damn girl, you look 20 year younger!"

As his wife responds by playfully hitting him, he laughs, before pointing out: "I guess it's not a compliment!"

He captioned the post: "I wonder why my wife didn't take it as a compliment!!??

"I just wanted to see if a woman would appreciate hearing this type of comment….she didn't. Go figure."

The post has since gone viral, racking up over 462k views and hundreds of comments.

"Oh man, that was a clever response - and she's a trooper!" wrote one.

A second penned: "Yep. Looking just as handsome with the hat on or off. And of course Holly looks beautiful no matter what!"

A third commented: "I dunno if other people are missing the point, I thought he was trying to say hey it isn't a compliment, you wouldn't say it to another woman so why is it okay to say it to a man and think it's a compliment?"

Meanwhile, a fourth noted: "People say to me 'you look good for 48' - can't they just leave it at 'you look good.'
