MrBeast’s Lunchables knockoff is already getting customer complaints of mold - The Mirror US

Just over a month since the launch of Lunchly, a Lunchables knockoff and collaboration between MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, and fellow YouTubers Logan Paul and Olajide "KSI" Olatunji, customers have taken to the internet to complain about moldy product.

YouTuber-turned-entrepreneur MrBeast, who is known for his extravagant giveaways and expensive stunts, is under fire over the poor quality of his latest business venture, not just because of his controversial collaborator.

Since the launch in September, several videos have popped up online of people opening their Lunchly boxes and finding fuzzy blue mold instead of fresh ingredients that the company promises.

The disappointing discovery is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Lunchly's controversy. Fans were disappointed in MrBeasts decision to partner with problematic YouTube figure Logan Paul, who has been at the center of several controversies, both on and offline, including posting video of a dead body on his YouTube channel on a visit to Japan and challenging legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather to a fight.

Lunchly, which is marketed as a healthier alternative and in direct competition with Kraft Heinz's Lunchables, launched on September 18. The website claims that Lunchly "is changing the grab-and-go game with an innovative approach that prioritizes quality ingredients and delicious flavors."

The boxed lunch features Prime beverages and Feastables bars, which are also products made by the three collaborators, and is pricier than Lunchables, which has had a monopoly on the market since the mid 90s.

Rosanna Pansino, a cookbook author and YouTuber with over 14 million subscribers, posted an unboxing video that revealed moldy cheese in one Lunchly that was two months away from expiration. Several other videos surfaced that corroborated the discovery, despite Pansino's contentious past with MrBeast.

Lunchly responded in a statement made to The Daily Mail on October 22, "All Lunchly products go through a stringent review process to ensure the quality and safety of its products. That process consists of multiple inspections and approvals, including that of the USDA, before any product can even leave the manufacturing facility."

The statement does not deny the presence of mold in the online videos, and it's unclear how they plan to mitigate the issue in the future.
